Our Story

THE BOG is rooted in generations of family farming in Langley, BC. Brian’s grandparents were local dairy and poultry farmers, and his parents, Jack and Joanne Dewit, carried on the tradition with dairy and hog farming in the Fraser Valley. In 1999, the family expanded into cranberry farming, creating a new chapter in their agricultural journey.
Raised on the farm, Brian developed a deep appreciation for the land and the privilege of working alongside family. In 2010, Brian and Mandy seized the opportunity to establish their own cranberry farm, planting 35 acres in Glen Valley, across from the original family farm, and becoming members of the Ocean Spray Cranberries cooperative.

Today, the family remains passionate about growing high-quality cranberries and takes pride in producing premium fruit each season. In 2020, they made the decision to share their berries directly with the local BC market by becoming independent producers. This marked the beginning of THE BOG brand. Since then, they have continued to expand their line of farm to table cranberry-forward products, now available in retail stores across British Columbia and Alberta.

Nestled along the Fraser River and surrounded by mountain views, including Mt. Baker on the horizon, THE BOG is more than a farm—it is home. Brian and Mandy are grateful to be raising their five children here and hope they will continue the family farming legacy for generations to come. During the Fall the whole family pitches in to help during the cranberry harvest.

Each September, harvest season brings excitement as the cranberry fields come to life. Through events like the Fort Langley Cranberry Festival, THE BOG welcomes the local community to experience the farm firsthand. The increasingly popular "Cranberry Plunge" experience has become a Fall favourite to many! As proud BC farmers, the Dewits are committed to offering fresh seasonal cranberries and farm-to-table products to the local market.
